One of the most popular inspection methods A&M Aerostructures provides is liquid penetrant testing (PT). Many of our customers request this method because it is highly sensitivity to small surface flaws and discontinuities. It also can be used on a wide variety of shapes and materials ranging from metals, plastics, and rubbers. PT is a cost-effective approach to rapidly inspect large objects or a high quantity of items.
A&M Aerostructures is capable of detecting common and uncommon discontinuities open to the material’s surface. Some of the most common discoveries are fatigue cracks, grinding cracks, overload and impact fractures, forging laps or seams, and weld discontinuities.
Our non-destructive testing (NDT) experts are well-trained in liquid penetrant inspection and hold Level II and III certifications aligned with ASNT-TC-1A and NAS 410, among other qualifications. A&M Aerostructures. provides Type II non-fluorescent NDT services to all of the various commercial and nuclear codes, as well as Type I fluorescent, all Methods and sensitivity inspection to aerospace, government, nuclear, and after-market applications.
A&M Aerostructures offers nondestructive Mag Particle Inspection services for analyzing surface and near-surface discontinuities. A&M Aerostructures professional techs are able to detect flaws in ferromagnetic materials by generating a magnetic field directly and/or indirectly into a configured component. Multiple methods are used for inspection such as dry particle and wet suspension while applying continuous and residual magnetization.
Wet Fluorescent magnetic particle testing is more accurate than dry powder testing for detecting very small discontinuities, because the particles are smaller. A&M Aerostructures uses wet fluorescent magnetic particle inspections to locate surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities.
An advantage of wet fluorescent MT is its ease and speed of application, given that technicians can quickly spray the chosen magnetic particle fluid over large surface areas. It is extremely sensitive to even extremely small and fine indications, increasing indication detection with consistent and reliable results while minimizing inspection time. This method can be used for in-service inspections, making it possible to detect asset damage without halting production.
Our qualified personnel of NDT professionals offer exceptional mag particle inspection services to a broad spectrum of industries domestically and globally. We perform Magnetic Particle Inspections in our laboratories, in the field and/or on client locations with customer service and cost reductions as major priorities and primary goal.
A&M Aerostructures offers Eddy Current Testing for crack detection, material or coating thickness, and conductivity measurements. Our inspections are capable of revealing small cracks and defects at or near the surface and have the ability to provide immediate results. AM Aerostructures has the capability to inspect complex shapes and sizes of conductive materials at location due to the portability of our eddy current equipment.
A&M Aerostructures also provides advanced techniques such as scanning, multiple frequency, swept frequency and pulsed inspections.
Our certified staff of NDT professionals provides eddy current testing services to a broad range of industries throughout the US and abroad. ET Testing services are offered in our laboratories, field locations and/or customer premises.
